The Nature of Numbers

Science is full of numbers – some very big, some very small.

By playing games with numbers we can discover that they help us to make sense of many surprising results in the scientific investigation of our world.

This is a mathematics show that is built around science – demonstrations that show how numbers help us to understand experimental results.

  • How many atoms are there is a grain of sand?
  • How much does a bag of air weigh?
  • What is the next number in the series 1,2,3,5,8?
  • How can you predict how far Mars is from the Sun?

These questions, and many others will be asked and, hopefully, answered by the students themselves!

This show is designed to bring the Fun and Fascination of numbers to a young audience through the world of science.
